FAQs – Fumigation
How long does fumigation take?
It will usually take 24 hours for fumigation to have an effect, however, some fumigations can take up to 10 days (Eg. Grain in silos). Please note that BioSsol requires at least 48 hours notice of any fumigation jobs as it is necessary to notify the appropriate authorities before going ahead with the treatment.
Is there any chemical residue?
In most cases, no. Methyl bromide fumigation is a colourless and odourless gas.
Is it toxic?
Yes, the chemicals used in fumigation are toxic, however, there are no issues when they are applied and vented correctly by a trained professional.
